CHANGER at the Co-Creation Workshop 2025
The CHANGER project took part at the Co-creation Workshop, held online from 14 to 17 September 2025. CHANGER was presented by partner Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU) team, Anna Huber, Nevien Kerk and Hella von Unger.
The workshop focused on the tool “Peer-Based Ethical Consultation for Qualitative Social Research”, highlighting CHANGER’s innovative contribution to the field of AI ethics. The tool offers flexible support for ethical research practice—in the spirit of “ethics by design”— while remaining mindful of resource constraints. It is an adaptation of the “consultative ethics review” (CHANGER) for the context of qualitative research in the social sciences and humanities.
About the tool: This tool consists of a step-by-step guide and a set of annotated questions designed to guide dialogical reflection on ethical issues in the qualitative research process. It provides a framework for peer consultation that promotes ethical reflexivity in a context-sensitive and methodologically appropriate manner and supports the development of solutions to identified problems. As such, it is well suited to provide ongoing support following an ex-ante ethics review.
