CHANGER Pilot Workshop in Bonn | DE
In the context of the Pilot Workshop, on 22 & 23 May 2025, an interdisciplinary workshop was held in Bonn, as part of the CHANGER project. The main aim of the two-day workshop was to test new methodological approaches for integrating ethical reflection into project design and implementation.
The focus of this event was on strengthening the capacities of research ethics committees in addressing the ethical challenges posed by new technologies and innovative research practices. After the presentation of the developed methods, participants worked in small groups to explore possible implementation scenarios. This hands-on format facilitated rich discussion, mutual learning, and critical feedback on the applicability and relevance of the proposed methods.

This meeting has been conducted in the frame of the CHANGER Pilot Workshops. As part of WP3, CHANGER develops innovative approaches and tools designed to integrate ethics-by-design principles into research processes, while embedding respect for human rights at every stage. These tools aim to enhance the consistency, quality, and efficiency of current ethics review mechanisms, and, consequently, the quality of research. The proposed methodologies have been tested and refined through pilot workshops conducted across multiple Research Ethics Committees (RECs) spanning diverse regions of Europe, from North to South and East to West.
