CHANGER presented at the 14th Global Summit of National Ethics Committees, San Marino
The CHANGER project was presented at the 14th Global Summit of National Ethics Committees which took place from 17 to 19 April 2024 at the Republic of San Marino. More specifically, Dr. Vassiliki Mollaki of coordinator NCSR Demokritos represented the project to this global summit which attracted more than 60 countries in the oldest Republic of the world.
Every two years, the Global Summit of National Ethics Committees brings together representatives from National Ethics and Bioethics and other advisory bodies from countries all over the world for an event of seminal strategic importance, representing a unique opportunity to foster international debate and to build consensus on priority issues of global interest in the fields of Bioethics.
The objectives of the Global Summit:
- To bring together the National and International Ethics/ Bioethics Committees / Commissions / Advisory Bodies from around the world in relation to bioethical issues;
- To serve as an international forum for exchanges and debate on bioethical issues of common global interest, based on a state of the art of the chosen topics;
- To contribute both to common understanding and consensus building between nations;
- To contribute both to common understanding and consensus building between nations;
- To contribute both to common understanding and consensus building between nations.
CHAllenges and innovative chaNGes in research Ethics Reviews (CHANGER) is a three-year Coordination and Support Action (CSA) project, funded by the European Union’s Horizon WIDERA programme aiming to promote changes in research ethics reviews by strengthening the capacities of researchers to incorporate ethical judgements in the project design and implementation, and by supporting capacity building of Research Ethics Committees (RECs) to address new challenges posed by new technologies and new research practices.
