Participatory approaches in research ethics workshop realised in Germany

The CHANGER project, together with partner LMU Munich, co-organised a workshop titled Participatory Approaches in Research Ethics, which took place physically on 4-5 July 2024 in Munich, Germany. The workshop was attended by CHANGER partners, the University of Macedonia and TU WIEN.

The workshop explored how individuals, stakeholders, and communities can be involved in research ethics and ethics reviews. The starting point is a shift in perspective: research ethics are not solely the concern of researchers but also involve research participants as well as communities and societies, in which research takes place. With these stakeholders, fundamentally different value and knowledge systems may enter the ethical debate.
