CHANGER at IRECS Final Conference: Understanding Ethics in Tech | BE
CHANGER, represented by partner Ana Marušić – MEFST, participated in a panel discussion at the Final Conference of the Horizon Europe project IRECS that took place on 11-12 December 2025, in Brussels, Belgium. The panel focused on the collaboration among EU-funded projects working on Research Ethics and Research Integrity (RE&RI) through cluster meetings. Alongside IRECS and CHANGER, the panel included RE4Green and AIOLIA, as well as a representative of the European Commission.

A key example of effective collaboration among RE&RI projects highlighted during the discussion was the joint work of IRECS, AIOLIA, and CHANGER to propose revisions to Section 8 of the European Commission’s “How to complete your ethics self-assessment” document. The proposed changes aim to better address the ethical challenges related to the development, deployment, and use of AI in research, enhance clarity, and ensure alignment with the EU AI Act, while fostering more practical ethical reflection.
The panel also discussed the impact of RE&RI cluster activities to date and explored future directions for continued collaboration.
