CHANGER presented to Norwegian Research Leaders
The CHANGER project was presented to the research leadership of Norwegian universities and university colleges during the UHR Research Unit Meeting held in Tromso on 12 May 2026. The audience included approximately 30 participants, among them pro-rectors and vice-rectors for research from higher education institutions across Norway.
The presentation, delivered by Research Professor Ellen-Marie Forsberg from Ostfold University of Applied Sciences (OUAS), highlighted key findings and policy recommendations from the CHANGER project. It focused on the need to move beyond traditional, one-time ethics review towards more reflexive and continuous ethics support throughout the research process. The presentation also showcased OUAS’s Project Advisory and Evaluation – Research Ethics Council (PRE-FER) as an example of institutional good practice, demonstrating how researchers can receive ethical guidance during the planning and implementation of research projects.
The session provided an opportunity to share CHANGER’s recommendations with senior research leaders responsible for shaping research policy and governance across Norway. By presenting the project’s vision for future-proof research ethics systems, the event contributed to raising awareness of approaches that strengthen ethical research cultures and improve research quality within higher education institutions.
