CHANGER findings and innovative tools presented at CIVIS Research Unit Staff Week in Bucharest

On 20 October 2026, the CHANGER project’s findings, innovative methodologies, and practical tools were presented at the CIVIS Research Unit Staff Week, hosted by the University of Bucharest, Romania.

The three-day event, held from 20 to 22 October 2026 under the theme “Ethical, Responsible and Transparent Use of AI in Research Support and Grant Proposal Development,” brought together academics, researchers, and research support professionals from universities across the CIVIS European University Alliance and beyond.

Constantin Vică, Associate Professor at the University of Bucharest and member of the CHANGER consortium, delivered the opening keynote entitled “Ethical and Responsible AI in Research: Findings from CHANGER, a European Project on Research Ethics.” During his presentation, Constantin Vică introduced CHANGER’s key findings, novel methods, and tools, highlighting the project’s contribution to addressing emerging ethical challenges and strengthening responsible research practices. The presentation provided an opportunity to share CHANGER’s work with an international academic audience representing more than ten universities, including researchers and professionals working in research management and support services.

Throughout the Staff Week, participants engaged in presentations, panel discussions, and hands-on workshops exploring the opportunities and risks associated with the use of artificial intelligence in research support and grant proposal development. Key topics included transparency, data protection, responsible AI practices, and the development of institutional recommendations for the ethical use of AI.

CHANGER’s participation contributed to the exchange of knowledge and good practices across the European academic community, supporting wider awareness and potential uptake of the project’s innovative approaches to research ethics. Through its engagement with international academic networks such as CIVIS, CHANGER continues to strengthen the visibility and impact of its results, encouraging dialogue and collaboration towards more responsible, transparent, and ethically informed research practices.
